This 2-day day lecture and hands-on workshop will provide a comprehensive practical guide to the equipment, materials and clinical techniques needed for optimising direct composite restorations. Delegates will complete a series of step-by-step practical exercises designed to enable mastery of the functional and aesthetic restoration of posterior and anterior teeth.
Course Objective
By the end of the 2-day course delegates will be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and practical skill in the direct restoration of posterior and anterior teeth in the following subject areas:
* Case selection for posterior and anterior composites
* Aesthetic assessment including shade selection
* Minimally invasive tooth preparation
* Isolation and adhesion. Rubber Dam placement (Anterior and posterior)
* Matrix systems for posterior and anterior composites.
* Step-by-step guide to anatomical shaping of posterior composites, including fissure anatomy, managing inter-proximal walls and large restorations.
* Step-by-step guide to composite veneers, diastema closure and Class IV composites (including layering techniques).
* Shaping, finishing and polishing techniques for anterior composites.
